Gopher Football Big Ten Road Trip: Penn State

The University of Minnesota Alumni Association Greater New York Chapter invites New York area alumni to an unforgettable experience in support of the 2009 Minnesota Golden Gopher football team. Ten years after the historic 24-23 upset of the then undefeated and second-ranked Penn State Nittany Lions, the Golden Gophers return to State College, Pennsyvlania against the defending Big Ten Conference Champions at Beaver Stadium, one of the most prestigious venues in all of college football.
Your Greater New York UMAA chapter has secured a limited number of game tickets and chartered a 50-plus passenger bus that will provide roundtrip transportation to State College, Pennsylvania, a destination that is approximately the same distance from New York to Washington D.C. or from the Twin Cities to Madison, Wisconsin. With a 3:30pm ET kickoff, we’ll depart from Midtown Manhattan (NE Corner of 3rd Avenue & 42nd Street) at 8:30am Saturday morning. We'll head back to New York around 8pm with an arrival shortly after midnight, disregarding the need for hotel accommodations during Penn State’s homecoming weekend.
Since 1993, Minnesota and Penn State annually play for the Governor's Victory Bell. Minnesota is 4-6 against the Nittany Lions in this series with Penn State currently holding possession of the trophy after winning the 2006 contest. Due to the Big Ten's schedule rotation, Penn State and Minnesota did not meet in 2007 and 2008.
For $130 per person, you can reserve your place on this trip that includes roundtrip transportation, a game ticket, access to the on-site tailgate provided by the Goal Line Club and UMAA with more goodies and surprises to come.
